Wave Bar Preloader

The Wave Bar Preloader puts a spin on the normal progress bar. As your SWF loads, the bars on the screen will animate, creating a wave effect. This preloader is 100% code-driven. There are several settings at your disposal to control how this wave effect appears. You can try some of these settings right now by clicking on the ‘settings’ bar on the top of the demo above! The full list of settings is:

  • bgColor – This is the base color used to create the background.
  • barColor – The color of the bars after they’re activated and at rest
  • barActivateColor – The color of the bars when they’re first activated
  • percentTextColor – This is the color of the percentage text.
  • barWidth – The thickness of each bar (in pixels)
  • barHeight – The height of each bar (in pixels)
  • barSpacing – The distance between each bar (in pixels)
  • useDropShadow – A true/false value that controls whether or not to have a drop shadow on the bars before activation
  • dropDistance – The drop shadow’s distance from the bar (in pixels)
  • dropAlpha – The alpha/opacity of the drop shadow (0 to 1)
  • useGlow – A true/false value that controls whether or not to have the bars glow once activated
  • glowAlpha - The alpha/opacity of the glow (0 to 1)
  • glowStrength – An integer that represents how strong the glow effect will be
  • animationSpeed – The duration of each bar’s animation (in seconds)
  • period – The distance between waves (in pixels). Can be likened to wavelength
  • amplitude – The strength of the waves. This is a scale value relative to the barHeight setting.
  • showPercentage – A true/false value that controls whether or not to show the percentage text
  • showBackground – A true/false value that controls whether or not to show the background
  • fadeOutAtEnd – A true/false value that controls whether or not the preloader fades out when it’s finished before moving to Frame 2.

All of these settings are on their own layer in the preloader’s MovieClip, making it easy to quickly change the appearance to suit your project’s needs.

Implementing the Wave Bar Preloader is simple. Just drop its MovieClip onto the first frame of your timeline, and begin your project on frame 2. The preloader does the rest! Step-by-step instructions on how to use and customize this preloader come with your purchase.

Thank you and enjoy!
