Web2.0 image gallery + *Rating System*

  Hello flashden users!
  This is a smooth Web2.0 XML CSS SWF image gallery with “PHP rating system”, reflection effect, background pattern transition and sliding info-panel.
OOP principles applied.

• Web2.0 effects:
  • smooth resize of picture frame on picture change
  • smooth sliding
  • mac-like effect
  • reflection of thumbnails

• Rating system:
  • PHP driven system, no need of dataBase setup, but easily may be modified to use a DB
  • limit repeat voting by setting cookies
  • set time for the cookie to live (15seconds set in the preview), may be set to “forever”
  • set own pictures of “stars” externally (no need to edit flash file)
  • easy set number of stars
  • variable star selection rate(full star, half, etc.)
  • easy set animation speed and time
  • 16 parameters contained in the StarPanel constructor

• Image change is made in several ways:
  • click on thumbnail
  • click on previous/next buttons
  • sliding the mouse wheel
  • left/right arrow keys
  • slideshow

- Smooth sliding is made by mouse movement on mouse over and by thumbnail selection on mouse out
- On changing between fullscreen states and on resizing of browser window, the picture changes it’s position and size in a smooth way, background tiles do not resize but multiply.

  Pictures may be opened in a new blank window by right-clicking on thumbnails and selecting “Open in New Window” from the context menu.

• There are several types of configuration files:
  • Configuration file for the whole application
    • - allows a lot of versatility with 33 settings including timers, widths and web2.0 effects, changing not just the look, but also the feel of using the application
  • Gallery files
    • - configures the galleries
  • Thumbnails files
    • - configures the pictures and thumbnails
  • Image Description
    • - define CSS hypertext for description panel, include images and SWF
  • Panel Design
    • - define 13 settings for the description panel
  • Rating System
    • - define images as stars(no .fla editing required!), number of stars, star selection rate(full star, half, etc.), animation speed and time
