No worries, I figured it out. It was the instance of the empty movie clip extended over the other frames that was overlaying the file.

Thanks again for your free file.

I will review your other products today.

Hi rcuela, just purchase your great work after seeing how it works beautifully.

I am trying to intergrate the pie chart into a php website. And the data in the pie chart need to be changed according to user’s selection (ie data is dynamic). In this case, how can I pass the name of the xml file from an HTML form? I think it may be similiar to what techdoc needed to do. Would you please help? Thanks

The xml path can be send via flashvars you can take a look at.

Hi Ronald,

I bought your excellent flash pie chart and have implemented it on http://www.ecoplay.nl/wat-zijn-de-voordelen/

Unfortunately the animation is not running smoothly. As you can see, the smaller pieces are taking much longer to be displayed than the larger parts of the pie. Is there anything that can be done to make the loading speed of the different parts of the pie more even?

Thanks,

Johan

How would I fit two of these on the same html page without both of them working on the same xml page. I seem to have that problem whenever action script is linked to an xml page. for some reason the 2 swfs only read from one xml file.

I understand how to use param variables to pass values to the swf from php. I don’t see the name of the param variable that I can use to provide the relative path to the xml file to use. I see earlier in these post you referred someone to the http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/flashVars/index.html site to learn abou param variables.

Will you please reply with the variable name?

Thanks, Rich

Can you create one more XML variable that allows us to set the graph title? I need to change the Xml Animated Pie by Rcuela.

Thank you, Rich

Hi rbowman:

You must open the fla file and you can change the title, background and size of the SWF file.

Hi Rculea,

Great coding! This works beautifully. I would like to use the animated pie chart multiple times in my flash (CS4 using AS2 ) project with each one using different values from the XML file. Is there any way to do this? I looked at the actionscript in the fla file and see where it imports the external XML code but I don’t see where to change the name of the XML file so I can use it multiple times in one flash project.

Can you help me with this?

Many Thanks, Scott
