XML banner rotator / XML slideshow

Preview not working properly yet, missing text and colorization of current slide.

hi!

1. the transition type can’t be changed, the xml attribute transition type isnt even used in the code.

2. clicking fast between thumbs causes a bug. image appears and then moves right out of the visible area, the content area, where the image should appear is blank then, no image is visible.

philipp1979 found two bugs that were fixed and file is in que atm. Anyone that purchased the file can email me to get new version now. Also I would like to thank philipp1979 for discovering those bugs.

hey, can you email me the newer version? Also, can you tell me how to disable the URL option? I don’t want to include a URL option in all the photo so can you tell me how to get rid of them in the ones that I need to? If I simply clear the URL and leave it like URL =”” flash crashes when the user clicks on it.

Slideshow looks great. Im just trying to load the slideshow into an as3 project. in my as3 template, the swf are loaded like this.

604 421 site_images/pages/extendedPortfolio/slideshow/xml_banner_rotator_thumbs.swf <!— It is highly recommended that when unloading your external swf, that any and all event listeners that have been set be removed, and all objects are removed from the stage, and bitmap data is disposed of. This clears your visitors memory and prevents your template from running into errors that can arise from unremoved event listeners. If you are flash beginner set the following to false, if you are somewhat good with actionscript set the following to true and then include the name of the function that takes care of removing your movieclip assets from memory. Make sure that this function is located on the first frame of the external swf that you are loading. —> false <!- if you are a begginer and have set to false then you can leave empty. -> destroySwf

The slideshow loads fine when I open up the “xml_banner_rotator_thumbs.swf” it plays fine in flash player, but does not show up on the website!

Is it possible to have customized thumbnail images?

I would like the large image to have a separate file for its related thumbnail image. Is this possible? Thank you.

Can it play SWF ? and start SWF only when the slide is displayed ?

Sure, i bought another rotator but when I inserted SWF files once the applet was loaded it played all the swf right after loading so scrolling to the next slide would display the SWF at the end of movie, not start.

Can’t get this to work on my website. Do you have any instructions on how to set everything up to work.

Hi. I’m loading this into another flash file via the ULI loader component and I only get the large images… The thumbnails don’t appear. Can you help? Thanks.

Nevermind, I figured it out: I just changed every instance of stage.stageHeight with the actual value.

I can’t seem to get the positioning of the Text holder to work. I have changed the values for textHolderpositionY and it seems to have no effect whatsoever. I’d like for the text box to appear right above the thumbnails, instead of at the top of the screen

Hi. Nice work. I am having a problem. I am using your banner rotator in Flash as an intro loading it with the loader class. Once people go beyond the intro, the movie is unloaded but I get these error messages referencing the event listener checkX (even though the movie has been unloaded) everytime I move my mouse. How I can get rid of this event listener? This is sure to create problems at runtime live. this is the error I get after the banner is removed: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at bannerRotator_fla::MainTimeline/CheckX()

Can you help? I am loading it through the loader class so I’m not sure I can even remove it from the main movie…I should tell u that I am only using the large images, I don’t need the thumbnails (made them 1px and masking them). If I delete the whole function that has checkX, the banner rotator no longer works… Thanks Sonia
