Hey and welcome to my latest creation: an XML Banner Rotator. I know, I know, been there done that. But still, I figured I’d create one and add a bit of a personal touch to it – this one surely has a lot of awesome transitions waiting for you!
Features include but are not limited to:- Completely XML driven – chances are you won’t need to open the .fla
- Text/Title can be styled using html – including hyperlinks
- Links can be added to the banners individually
- The target for these links can be set individually
- 12 Transitions can be set globally or individually (random is also an option)
- Display time can be set globally or individually
- Add as many banners as you want – the buttons are copied dynamically
- Rotator is all in one movieclip, can be dragged and dropped easily
- Actionscript is commented excessively
- All designs, including that of the buttons etc. are easily changed in the fla file
- Play/pause button is easily hidden or shown.
The XML is easy to understand and well-structured with a lot of examples. The same applies to the actionscript. You can basically manage the banner rotator without even having to open an fla! How great is that!
