Does anyone know how to scale images properly (without squishing said images contents), to fit the 640×440px limit on the “detail” side of things?

The current site I have up right now: http://www.ericwhitestudio.com

Check out the “seascapes”, or “ethnic artwork” sections to see the problem I’m running in to on scaling properly. Due to the size of the source images I have, scaling them in PS CS5 tends to get messy, the contents get all squished and knocked outta proportion.

I work for (Eric White Studio) as webmaster, designer and SEO , and Mr. White doesn’t approve of that method of scaling his art work. And I don’t blame him for it, he knows how his artwork is supposed to look, plus the only way I know to scale images down looks terrible in this case…

I hope this has made some sense. I’m just curious about how to take an image for example with “1028×1200px” dimensions down to the limit of “640×440”, if possible.

Any input would be awesome, because currently the site is done, and I have only a few images left to tweak, and the next phase of business can start.

Thanks for any help provided, and since at the moment I don’t have access to the company email (eric@ericwhitestudio.com), please email me at: allenwdev@gmail.com.

I’m sorry – I’m not sure I’m understanding. Are you just asking how to resize an image?

Dear Sir,

The text links do not work and the contact form does not work as well.

Do you why that could be so?

Rgds.

Good question. Hard to know without seeing how you set up your xml. Please check my support forum (http://designxcore.com/support/forum/) and if the answer isn’t there, please ask it. :)

I have seen some of the sample sites that use your gallery.

BUT only one website seems to have its own custom backgrounds that DO NOT block out the plaques, ambient light, electrical outlets.

The only site that I have seen successfully do this is http://www.renezensen.de/

How did he/she do this? (Make it so that his/her background does NOT block out certain design elements that are in your Flash gallery).

Is there a way to “call/retrieve” a background from the FLA File and post it from the XML file?

I think that is how he/she did it.

Please let us know.

It looks like her wall is just a solid color and she just changed the baseboard. You may also want to consider the 2nd version of this same file which has a whole lot more features, including custom backgrounds: http://activeden.net/item/fine-art-gallery-flash-web-template/168521

Hello,

I love the gallery. I just purchased it for my online portfolio www.lydiebemba.com. However, I cannot open the FLA files. Could you help with that.? Also, how can I make the foreground objects clickable/viewable?

Thanks
