This is a multiline text coming from an external xml file. One time the xml file is loaded every letter of the entire text became a textfield inside a movie clip.
At that point Flash provide to animate each letter on enter and, usually, on exit if it has been setted.

Just put a font on your library, give to it a linkage and choose the type of letter effect you like.
