Its a random image rotator that can be used for displaying multiple ads on a web page, for a random image header, or as a slideshow etc. Simple to set up, via XML .
• Displays images in a random order or in an order that you choose
• Once you set the dimensions in FLA , almost everything else can be set up from the simple XML file( images, descriptions, does it display descriptions for images/banners, is it random, is it a link (for each image), how long does each image display etc.)
• if you choose so, you can display a name/short description for each image loaded. If not, you just turn off the name display option in the XML
• Every image can have its own URL that it leads to when clicked (for ads, banners etc). The links can be relative (“index.htmâ€) or absolute (“http://www.mysite.comâ€). However, if you leave the URL field blank in the XML file, the image still loads, only it doesn’t have that link functionality (nothing happens when you click it, if you use this as a slideshow) This can be set for each image/ad separately.
• entire code is in a single MC so it can easily be moved to a different FLA
• When displaying in a random order, it creates the random sequence only once (when the banner rotator is loaded), so each image/ad/link still gets displayed the same amount of times during the visit to the page
