Nice player…but i’m still not impressed

I have been following and researching all your players and all other players on the net that can do Youtube

and there is not a single one that is good (enough) maybe that is caused by the fact that the designers dont spend enough real life expereince making a website with a good player.

Like this you can keep on going making players why dont you finally make a good one ?

I dont want to critize..just trying to explain what is really needed from a real user’s point-of view.

This new one dont add nothing to the players you already have made..who cares its AS3 ? all we care for is a working player.

came close..but its missing:

1)

A quality switch to choose between HD(720) and the quality below that..this is neccesary..because many users system/connection can not deal with the HD stream..so they will get underrun (underbuffer) problems..which causes many breaks.

2)

A playlist that is either over the video-area or separate from the player…it should show all thumbnails your last player show no thumbnails at all !

3)

In XML :

...a] Playlist URLs

...b] All (or as much as possible) colors to be defined so the player can match the design and colors of the website it is on

...c] Alternatively if b] not possible..option for skinning.

...d] Set the size of the player…a fixed size is fatal for a webdesigner.

...e) Setable buffer-time or delayed play-time (solves buffer-underrun)

...etc

Here’s the top Youtube API -players:

JW-player comes close..but cant do HD…and no Youtube XML -urls.

FlashXpert..have design looks problems.

Vamapauls player missing many needed options.

Have a look at youtubes own embedded playlist-player that one is almost good…but its missing:

XML : setting for playlists (unlimited list of urls or iD’s instead of gData)

XML : setting for all colors (instead of half)

So in the end none of them is good enough You could build a real succes player..if you for once would listen to a real-life user…i would not mind paying 2 times more for a good one.

In the end i’m only suggesting to instead of making new players all the time..(which are not good enough..for me) to make one really good one…and sell 1000’s of them !

I would not mind helping you with advice..if you could produce such a player in lets say 2 months.

one question before purchase this item

i have no idea for flash i need to add it in a website that i build and i need to resize the tha player 598px × 364px

how easy is this and can you help me do this?

Have you produced a standalone version rather than one that works by playlist? I’ve been looking for over 6 months now to no avail.

For instance, it would be nice to be able to chuck the youtube id into the flashvars rather than point it to an xml file.

I’ve never seen these playlist players been used on most websites to be quite frank. Just a standalone replacement for the youtube player for embedding would be nice.

(I have already purchased this product, and would like the above).

In fact I have produced a version of this already which I am happy to send to you if you would like.

I don’t claim to be an expert, but this works and doesn’t use a playlist.

Did you manage to find a solution to the problem where the controls.width is greater than stage.stageWidth

(1) Whatever happened with the “super player” that my friend MamboFlash suggested and which was going to be uploaded some 5 months ago?

(2) Can this one be set to shuffle the playlist for random playing of videos?

(3) Does it have any limitations as to number of videos within one playlist?

(4) Does that third party XML editor work with this version of the player?

1) Like Mambofish said, you have too many players that are all different and none do the whole thing. You even agreed and you even stated that a new version was being updated next week and that was several months ago. So, I was asking if/when that might happen?

2) If I could modify a line of AS3 then most likely I could build my own. However, this is an excellent illustration of what Mambo was trying to tell you – a miriad of player versions with miriad of features but none with all of them.

4) I was referring to “that third party player”, the one that remydk created and that works with your other 2 players.

P.S. May I suggest that you would be better off with more expensive players or even smaller yearly subscriptions, instead of turning over so many versions just to make a buck, with your otherwise excellent work. Many of us would not mind paying a good buck for a good product just not to waste our time investigating millions of versions of the same old garbage.

Hi, can you control the video player in the timeline? For example, I have three frames in the flash timeline and I wanted the video player on the first frame only and not showing up on frame two and three? Is that possible? Thanks
